Two Queens is proud to present a solo exhibition by Michaela Cullen, ‘Cathedral of Worms’.

A transmutation through warped realms, this new body of work manifests the ritualistic remnants of a fictional hyper-contemporary, yet ancient folkloric cult — ‘Cathedral of Worms’. Exploring ideas around the esoteric, Irish burial rituals and magick, the Cathedral asks one thing of its prospects, How much spiritual currency do you possess? And how much is it worth?

Michaela Cullen is an Irish artist and musician based in London, recent exhibitions include ‘Double Dropping on a Phantom Island’ Newbridge Projects, Newcastle, ‘Near Futures’ broadcast on Montez Press Radio, New York, ‘Death of a Naturalist’, The Tetley Leeds, ‘SINC’ Backlit Gallery, Nottingham.

This exhibition is the last of a programme at Two Queens between 2019-2022 aiming to evaluate the ways we use language when making and talking about contemporary art. The programme is made possible by public funding from the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
