Two Queens is proud to host ‘The Onesie Cycle’ by Benedict Drew, an extended version of the exhibition of video and sculpture work previously developed for Rhubaba Gallery, Edinburgh. The show includes a newly commissioned set of works The Onesie Cycle (VIP) by the artist for Phoenix. Both parts of the exhibition will be running concurrently across the two venues which are in close proximity. VIP stands for variation in production and is a term used in dance music to describe a remix done by the original artist.
The Onesie Cycle (VIP) will run at Phoenix til the 7th September and end with a talk and a screening of his short film Matériel in the Cinema.
Benedict Drew (b. 1977) works across video, sculpture, music and their associated technologies. Recent solo exhibitions include: The Onesie Cycle, Rhubaba, Edinburgh; Now Thing, Whitstable Biennale; This Is Feedback, Outpost, Norwich; Gliss, Cell Project Space, London. Group exhibitions include: Bold Tendencies, London; While It Lasts, Eastside Projects, Birmingham; Is That All There Is? Import Projects, Berlin; Revolver Part 3, Matt’s Gallery, London; and Long Live The New Flesh, ICA, London. He was lead artist for Chisenhale Gallery’s Propeller Project (2012) was a LUX Associate Artist (2011/12) and in 2012 was shortlisted for the prestigious Jarman award.
