Join us for this beginner level workshop with artist Tom Robertson to develop your skills in painting portraits from life

Working with a clothed model and strong direct light, Tom will guide participants through the stages of building up and modelling form monochromatically in oil paint, with attention to shadow, midtones and highlights- an essential first step towards producing effective portrait painting and creating atmosphere through directed light.All materials, equipment and light refreshments will be provided – this workshop will take place in our gallery working at easels with seating available. The same workshop will run twice on 7th and 14th August, participants are welcome to book for one or both sessions.
