‘Trying to Say Something – An Artist Talk Without Words’ is a take on the artist talk by Joanne Masding, to accompany her exhibition of newly commissioned work, ‘stuffs wander off, a shape steps in’. The silent, looped and projected video scrolls through stacks of images to draw out elements of the visual research that informs the exhibition. Rather than using words to describe and explain her practice and the works in the show, Masding’s video is an invite into the studio, to share the space for filtering, sorting, processing and developing. Following lines of enquiry including archaeology and holography, and drawing tangential associations between forms such as marble quarries and tooth veneers, the screening presents a range of routes into and around the works in the show.

Video to be screened from 6-9pm, no booking required.

Kindly supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England, Leicester City Council and De Montfort University.
