Two Queens Creative Wellbeing Group
Thursday Afternoons, 1-4pm – January 11th – February 15th
Two Queens Creative Wellbeing Group aims to provide a supportive space for artists based in Leicester to come together, make and socialise. The group is open to anyone who feels they would benefit from taking part.
Each week we plan an optional fun creative activity to take part in, with plenty of time just to socialise and enjoy a cup of tea. No booking is required, and there is no pressure to attend every week or all of every session, just drop in whenever you would like to. It is free to take part, and all materials and light refreshments are provided.
This block of 6 sessions will run on Thursday Afternoons, 1-4pm.
11th Jan: Fabric Block Printing – making styrofoam printing blocks and using them to print on fabric. We will provide blank tote bags to print, or bring your own fabric to print on.
18th Jan: Zines and Badges – making small booklet zines, drawing/collaging/printing inside, we will also get the badge maker out!
25th Jan: Acrylic Painting – 10 x 12″ canvas boards are provided, or feel free to bring your own support to paint on.
1st Feb: Handbuilt Ceramics – session working with Terracotta clay and glazes, work on your own ideas, or we can guide you in making a coiled pot
8th Feb: Drawing and Watercolour – we’ll provide all of the materials to spend some time drawing and painting, sketching from life or your imagination
15th Feb: Cyanotype Prints: using sunlight to capture shadows cast by compositions of objects on specially prepared paper.
This project is made possible by funding from The National Lottery through Arts Council England.
Carers and Support workers are also welcome to attend and take part. A budget to support the travel costs and access needs of participants is available, please email info@2queens.com for more information.
