AAA is a performance consisting of a presentation of recent text based works and live soundtrack by Ashley Holmes to accompany current exhibition Cry Then Win Then Lose Reaction at Two Queens, Leicester.

Readings of excerpts of writing made over recent months act as supporting material to Cry Then Win Then Lose Reaction, further documenting and exploring Holmes’ interest in archiving and documentation of (non) performance within platforms and conversations that facilitate social commentary and cultural tradition.

The work is soundtracked by a live performance by Holmes using a single turntable to play music from his personal record collection spanning multiple genres and reflecting an interest in soundsystem cultures to map a timeline of the lineage and archival recordings of music of Black origin.
